Thinking about your dream wedding venue can be so exciting but when it comes time to make an appointment to tour the venue and get a quote, everything goes from what you were dreaming about to actual reality. With reality comes the often uncomfortable conversation about money and what the venue actually has to offer you and your future spouse. While this can certainly be a little bit overwhelming, I have created a list of questions to ask while you are touring potential wedding venue options.

My advice is to take this list of questions with you to each venue you visit and make sure to ask all the questions on the list. These may seem like little details but they are actually really important and will be helpful to know the answers to when you compare what each venue has to offer you.

Before you embark on your actual venue search make sure you discuss, as a couple, what your budget looks like and what the most important things are that you two want in your ideal wedding venue. Deciding on these things ahead of time will help you to weed out venues that don’t fit your needs or your budget so you don’t waste your time. I definitely recommending getting some basic pricing information before touring a venue so that you know whether the venue will fit within your budget. You don’t want to put yourself into a difficult situation with a venue that is too out of reach for what you can afford. It’s absolutely ok to dream but remember to be realistic as well. The venue is just the beginning of the process.
