Ways To Incorporate Fur Babies In Your Wedding Day
If you are a pet parent and your Dog or Cat holds a special place in your heart then why not include them, in some way, in your wedding day. After all, they are your babies and part of your love story. There are so many ways that our pets and fur babies can be incorporated into your big day.
Surprise Greeter/Welcome Party
Have a designated friend or family member bring along your fur baby to welcome and greet your guests as they arrive for your ceremony. Set them up near the entrance of the ceremony space with a big bowl of water. Deck them out for the celebration in a cute bowtie, suit, bandana or floral collar. What a fun and cute way to say “hello” and “welcome”!
Guestbook
If your pet is not able to attend the wedding in person, this could be a sweet way to incorporate them into your big day. Display a cute sign or picture frame with your pup or kitty on the guestbook table greeting your guests as they arrive. Or better yet, create a guestbook that incorporates your furbabies. Etsy has some great options for this!
Take A Walk Down The Aisle
If your venue can accommodate your beloved pet, why not have them walk down the aisle? How cute would it be to have them be a flower pup or cat? If your pet is well-behaved and trained you may even have the option of having them be up at the altar with you. However, having your pet at the wedding is something that does take a little planning. Who will care for your pet on your wedding day? You will want to have a designated trusted friend or family member help care for your pet and take care of their needs as you will be pulled in lots of different directions. You want to make sure your pet is being well taken care of when you aren’t able to be with them.
Cocktail named after them
Naming a specialty drink at the bar after your beloved pet is a great way to have them there in spirit (hahaha, had to do it). No, but seriously it’s a great way to incorporate them into your big day. Add a cute sign to the bar with a picture of your pet and a description of the drink and add some fun cocktail napkins with their face on them too! Everyone will love it ordering it and will happily remember your pet!
Special Guest
Having your pet be a special guest during cocktail hour can be a fun way to incorporate them as well! You can join them to walk around and say hello to your guests. This is a cute way to give them a small spotlight during the wedding and your guests will love getting a chance to meet and greet your special fur baby. Have your band or DJ make an announcement about having a special guest join in the cocktail hour for a fun little surprise moment.
Family Pictures
The most important part of having your pet with you on your wedding day is having them there to take part in your pictures. This can be such a fun moment with your special fur babies and the photos will be a great memory for your and your partner for years to come!
