It’s Friday so, we are going to talk about Signature Cocktails today! Woohoo! Signature Cocktails are a great way to incorporate your unique style into your wedding but also can help you cut down costs on pricey alcohol selections. Definitely something I recommend as a Wedding Planner.
Bar and alcohol costs can very easily get way out of hand and can end up being one of the most expensive parts of your wedding. How do you cut those costs down? Do a Signature Cocktail(s) and forgo the top shelf liquor options. By including 1-3 specialty mixed drinks with a simple beer and wine bar, this will give your guests the feeling of an full bar with out all the pricey top shelf liquor.
You can do one drink (or multiple drinks) that represent you as a couple or one that represents the theme/style of your wedding. For example, for a Fall wedding try an Apple Cider Sangria, a Salted Caramel Martini or a Mulled Hot Cider. Pinterest is a great resource for finding the perfect cocktail and name for your Signature Drink(s). Check out my Pinterest Signature Cocktails board for some more creative ideas.
Another option could be doing a his & hers; hers & hers; or his & his drinks that represent you each individually. Your individual drinks can include each of your favorite liqueurs. Mix together Champagne, Peach Scnapps and Grenadine to create a “Blushing Bride” Cocktail. Or mix your groom’s favorite Whiskey with some Ginger Ale and Lime and call it “The Dashing Groom”. You can even do cocktails with clever wedding names like a “Mint-To-Be Mojito”, “Something Old Fashioned”, or “Something Blue”.

You will want to make sure that your guests know what their drink options are so adding a menu sign to your wedding bar can be a perfect touch. If you are going for a rustic feel, you an do a menu on a piece of stained wood, a chalkboard sign or a wooden pallet. For more of a vintage feel, try an ornate mirror or an old window frame. If you’re planning a more elegant and modern/contemporary feel, you might like an acrylic or a printed and framed cocktail sign. A lot of Calligraphers and Stationers can create perfect bar menu signage to match your wedding style so check with your Wedding Planner to see who they recommend. You can also find some great options for bar signage on places like Etsy.com.

This is a great way for your guests to see more of your “couple style” and wedding style mixed into your day so get creative and have fun with your Signature Drinks. And, save yourself some money along the way.
