Simple Valentine's Day Date Ideas

Valentines Day is that friendly little reminder that pops up every year to remind you to say I Love You to all the special people in your life. Sure some people might think it’s sappy or cheesy, but it is a forever mark on your calendar to make a special date night with your partner.

I am a firm believer in dating your fiancé or spouse, and any little reminder to do so is a-ok in my book. It’s important to take that time and bring back the romance that you shared when you were first dating and made you fall in love in the first place. With this in mind, I have put together some fun Valentine’s date night ideas to spice it up a bit this year.

Recreate your first date.

How romantic would it be to go back in time and re-create your first date? What a fun night of reminiscing and remembering how you fell for each other in the first place. Go back to where it all started or recreate the nights events at home. Share your favorite moments and memories of your first date with your partner and bring back all the love, laughter and fun.

watch the sunset with your favorite dessert.

Sometimes you don’t need much but just some intentional alone time together can be so important. Go grab your favorite dessert and take a blanket to a nice spot where you can watch the sun go down and enjoy each other’s company. Bring a bottle of wine or champagne and some glasses along too share a toast. No phones, just the two of you and the sunset.

A nice quiet Movie Night In.

Pick up a movie at Redbox or the Walmart $5 bin or stream something new or even a classic favorite on your favorite streaming app. Grab some popcorn, takeout from your favorite restaurant and a cozy blanket and snuggle up to watch together.

Leave it to fate.

Each of you can jot down 5 ideas for a date and put them in a bowl. Shake it up and pick. Whichever one you pull out is what you do! Change it up a bit by separating your ideas into separate bowls and you pick one from their bowl and they pick one from yours. That way you both get a chance to do something you want for the evening. The ideas can be places to go, places to eat or drink, things to do, etc. Make it fun and spicy! The possibilities are only limited by your imagination.

Cook together.

Plan out a fun dinner menu together to enjoy at home. Gather your ingredients and cook them together. It can be a classic favorite or something new. Making a meal together can be super fun and even sexy. Get close, get goofy, have fun. Then enjoy the delicious meal you created together. Add a candle or two, wine and some music to create a romantic ambience.

Valentine’s Day doesn’t have to be this elaborate to-do. There are lots of creative ways to express your love and appreciation for one another and not break the bank. I like to think of it as another day to date my spouse because let’s be honest we all get wrapped up in our busy day-to-day lives and forget to say simple things to one another like I love you, and I am grateful for you. These date ideas are not just for Valentine’s Day. These moments can be created any day, anytime. Keep them on hand any time you need to add a little kick to your romantic life. And, whatever you do for Valentine’s Day, make sure to tell your partner that you love and cherish them because that is what it’s all about.

Happy Valentine’s Day!

Love,

Naticia
