Tips To Help You Prep For Your Wedding Rehearsal
We get so busy planning our wedding day, and it seems the wedding rehearsal sometimes gets forgotten for the last minute. That is a stress that I don't want any of my couples to have; here are some tips I give my clients to prepare for the rehearsal. Having these things completed will make for a smooth rehearsal and a bonus day of celebration with your closest family and wedding party.
Tip One
Plan out the order of the Wedding Party, the way you see them all standing at the altar with you and either draw it out or write it out and share this information with your Wedding Planner, Day of Coordinator, Venue Coordinator, or Officiant (whoever will be running your rehearsal for you).
Tip Two
Pick out your important songs for the Wedding Party to process to, the Bride to process to, and then the Recessional song that you will all walk back out to and provide them to your Ceremony musicians and whoever will be running your rehearsal so that they can plan out appropriate timing for your walk down the aisle.
Tip Three
Meet with your Officiant/Celebrant about 1-2 months before your wedding to plan out the flow of the Ceremony:
When you will say your vows (will they be traditional or personal)
When you will exchange the rings
What blessings and/or readings will be mixed in, and when they will be read as well as who will be reading them
Tip Four
Make sure to let the important people (i.e., the Wedding Party, parents on both sides (and sometimes grandparents), the parents of any children who will be walking down the aisle) what time to show up for rehearsal and where they should be showing up to.
Tip Five
Pick out your outfits a day or 2 ahead of time so that you can make sure you have your full look together, and they can be steamed, ironed, or dry cleaned beforehand.
Tip Six
Bring along your marriage license to provide to your Officiant or Wedding Planner, so you don't forget it on your wedding day.
Tip Seven
Remember to relax and take it all in. This is practice for the biggest day of your life, so be in the moment and remember that it is just practice. Your Wedding Planner or Coordinator will make sure everyone gets down the aisle so that you can marry the love of your life. Just be present.
With these tips, I guarantee your rehearsal will run smoothly and give you confidence in the magical day ahead of you. These moments are so precious, so take them in, remember to take a moment and take a look around, and soak in all the love that surrounds you and your fiance. This time is about the love between the two of you and your future together; the memory of these moments will forever last in your hearts.
Happy Planning! <3
