Introduction - How I Became A Wedding Planner

Hello! My name is Naticia Fonseca. I am a Wife, a Daughter, a Cat Mommy, a Coffee Lover and a certified Wedding Planner and the owner of The Calla Lily Event Planning. A long awaited dream of mine, The Calla Lily Event Planning was officially opened in 2015. Here's the story of how I got here.

Always a hopeless romantic at heart, my love for weddings formed at a very young age. Along with my love for fashion design. In 2006, I started my freshman year at Albright College in Reading, PA with a plan to obtain my Bachelor's Degree in Fashion Design and Merchandising and head on to New York City to design gowns for a living. Little did I know how my path would change. As my years in college went on, my love for weddings grew and grew. I found myself drawing and sketching only wedding gowns, talking about weddings endlessly and obsessing over all the wedding shows on TV. This passion for weddings lead me to my Internship in my Junior Year of college to Victorian Bridal Salon in Reading where I became a Bridal Consultant. I quickly feel in love with the job and my internship turned into a regular part-time job that I truly enjoyed. By the time I was ready to present my final project for my college fashion courses, it was completely wedding focused. No surprise. In May 2010, I graduated from Albright College with a Bachelors Degree in Fashion Design and Merchandising with a full intention of one day owning my own Bridal Shop and Event Planning/Design business.

While in college, I met my amazing and wonderful husband, Daniel. Daniel proposed to me on April 5th, 2009 at Longwood Gardens under the Love Temple. Through the process of planning my own wedding, I started forming and building relationships with vendors in the industry through our mutual love for weddings. I also started studying and researching everything there was to know about weddings. I couldn't get enough.

On a hot and humid day in May of 2012, I married my Best Friend, and The Love of My Life, at the Radisson Valley Forge. It really was, the best day of my life!

I talked for years about "one day" owning my own wedding planning business. Finally, in February 2015, I decided it was time to stop talking about it and just go for it! So I did and, I haven't looked back. Starting my own business has been a crazy ride but I have had such an amazing supportive team in my husband, family and friends and in all the amazing "friendors" I have met along the way!

Being able to help a couple create a wedding that tells their love story and showcases their unique "couple style" is something that I am truly passionate about! Allowing my couples the ability to feel relaxed and actually enjoy their wedding day is something I am always working to ensure. I truly love what I do and I feel so blessed to be able to share in my couples joy and happiness on their special day!

As we take this journey called life, we are all looking for "our calling". The one thing that makes us feel fulfilled and whole. We follow our dreams, wherever they may take us until one day, we find that calling. And, when we find it, we know. We feel it in our bones. We feel it in our souls. I truly believe, that I have found mine here, as a wedding planner. I hope to make this blog a place where I can share my "calling", my "dream", my passion with you. And to help you through your wedding planning journey, with helpful tips and advice, recommendations and inspiration.

Thank you for reading this blog and for supporting my business! It really means the world to me!

Love,

Naticia
