Wedding Registry Checklist
When planning a wedding there are so many different things to get done and prepare for. One of the more fun tasks that needs to be completed before invitations can go out, is your wedding registry. While this is super fun to do it can be a bit overwhelming to think of all the things you should pick out. To make it easier for my couples I have created a Wedding Registry Checklist so you can check off all the important items as you go. This will help make creating your wedding registry quick and easy!
While I have covered all of the more traditional items on this list don’t be afraid to think outside of the box and add some things you find or really want. Often I hear the question, “Would it be okay to have that on my registry?” The answer is usually yes, so put the flat screen tv on there, or whatever other item you are contemplating because the worst that can happen is you don’t get that item as a gift. However most stores give a percentage off on the items that are left on your list, so if you receive gift cards or money for your wedding, you have a chance that you will get that item later on for a better deal.
It is also a good idea to add a gift card slot to the places you are registered at on your wedding website because just as I mentioned above it’s a great way to check off those items you really want but didn’t receive. Make sure to ask the places you choose to register with what their return policy is and if they offer a discount on items that are left on your registry. This is often called a registry completion discount. If they do offer the discount ask how many days after your wedding date will it kick in and how long you have to complete it. Another great tracking system a lot of places offer now is who bought the item. While you can always keep the card sometimes things get lost and it’s nice to have a backup plan so you know who to thank in your Thank You cards for which items, after the wedding. Just a few tips to think about when you are choosing what stores will work best for you.
Below is the checklist, make sure to save or screenshot for future use!
Already living together or have most of these items already on hand? No problem. It’s absolutely okay to request monetary gifts instead or have your guests help you create a dream honeymoon. With websites like HoneyFund.com, your guests can help contribute to fun activities, meals and excursions for your honeymoon trip. Do what works best for you as a couple and have some fun working together to create your wedding registry list. Make a date night out of it by ordering in, having some wine or champagne and creating your registries together online. It’s a fun way to connect, bond and plan for your future together!
As always, Happy Planning!
