Tips For Staying Calm On Your Wedding Day

So much excitement and planning goes into your wedding day and with that can come some nerves and jitters. While the butterflies in the stomach are common, you don’t want your nerves and anxiety to take away from enjoying your day. You deserve to be able to relax and enjoy the day to it’s fullest. Let’s talk about some tips for helping you stay calm on your wedding day.

Get Pampered

Make all your pampering appointments for the week of or the week before before your big day. This will allow you time to relax and enjoy yourself. Bring along a book, or listen to your favorite podcast, and grab a coffee or tea or maybe even some champagne. Just remember to enjoy yourself!

Wedding Planner

Having a Wedding Planner can be so helpful in keeping you calm through the entire process of Wedding Planning but especially the week of and the day of your wedding. Hand over all your stressors and worries to your Wedding Planner and they will ensure the day will run smoothly and you can enjoy every moment.

Your Wedding Planner will…

  • Contact and communicate with every one of your venues and vendors to confirm all logistics and timing. Once the vendors arrive, your Wedding Planner will be there to ensure everything gets set up correctly and everyone knows the plan of action.

  • Field all vendor calls/questions and will help make any last-minute decisions for you.

  • Be there, by your side, to make sure you are being taken care of and ensure you are able to enjoy all the little moments.

A Good Night’s Sleep

The night before your wedding make sure to go to sleep early and give yourself a good night's rest. You want to feel refreshed and ready for your big day so getting good sleep will definitely help.

Wake up early

Set your alarm early. If you have an early morning start time for hair and makeup, set your alarm for a least one hour before your start time to allow you time to wake up and start your day. Get up and take a shower or bath, grab some coffee and breakfast and allow yourself some time to just relax before starting the days activities. You don’t want to feel rushed on the morning of your wedding and not feeling rushed is the key to staying calm on your wedding day.

Pack ahead of time

Give yourself plenty of time to pack what you will need on your wedding day like your dress, shoes, headpiece/veil, undergarments, and all the little things you will need that day. Gather these items all together and put them in one place so it’s easy for your to remember and grab. Doing this the day or night before the wedding will ensure you are ready to go for the next morning with one less thing to think about. - You will also want to make sure to do this with your items your photographer will need for detail photos as well. Gather things like a copy of your invitations, both of your wedding rings and your engagement ring, any jewelry you plan to wear or want photographed, etc. Place these items in a box or a bag inside the door where you are getting hair and makeup done so that your photographer can grab them quickly and easily without bothering you.

First Look

This is something you and your partner should think about if you want to help get your wedding day jitters out before walking down the aisle. Doing a First Look has been known to help calm your nerves because it gives you, as a couple, a chance to see each other and talk a bit while sharing some time alone before the actually wedding ceremony. This can be a really sweet and special time and has become a very popular option for couples to allow for the opportunity to calm their nerves togehter and get special photos to remember those moments forever.

What it comes down to is just being prepared and not leaving anything for the last minute. Try and keep yourself as organized as possible to eliminate stress and chaos. Think ahead of all the things you will need early on, the week or two before your wedding, to set yourself up for success and not for stress. If you do these things, they will set you up to be as calm and ready as you can be, and ready to enjoy your wedding day!
