Important Questions To Add To Your Wedding Website

Wedding websites are such game changers for planning your wedding and getting the most direct date info to your guests and wedding party. As you can see I am a huge advocate for having a wedding site and tell all my clients the perks and benefits of doing so. If you want to read more about why you should have a wedding website I dish out all the details here.

Today I want to review important questions you should add to your website for your guests to access. This can go on an FAQ (frequently asked questions) page to answer some common questions your guests might have. It’s great to have all those questions, easily accessible, all in one place to cut down on the amount of people coming to you and asking you all the questions over and over again. An FAQ page on your wedding website will give you a direct place to send your guests for all the details so they feel they can plan accordingly for your big day.

Let’s get down to it…

  1. Where is the Ceremony Taking Place?

When adding the information and location make sure to use links to the ceremony spot if there is a website, and also the google address so they can easily click on it. Adding a picture of the space can help as well.

Note: having direct links is very helpful

  2. What time is the Ceremony?

Make sure to make clear the Ceremony start time, not the time you want guests to start arriving, the actual time that your Ceremony is scheduled to start.

  3. Where is the reception?

Give directions from the Ceremony location to the Reception location (especially if they are in two different places) and an address with a link. Also, make sure to include the start time for your Reception, which typically begins at your Cocktail Hour.

  4. What is the dress code?

Be clear on your dress code. Is your event formal or more of a black tie feel or semi-formal with more of a cocktail attire vibe? Or are you going for festive or casual? Make sure you let your guests know so that they can plan their attire to fit your wedding day vibe.

There is nothing more uncomfortable for people than feeling they aren’t dressed properly.

  5. What weather should I expect?

Now weather can be unpredictable to give the perfect answer for this one, but if you are getting married in a cold month, and the Ceremony or Reception are outside, make sure to make it clear to your guests to dress warm, or bring a coat. Maybe explain if there will be a heater or if the whole event will be indoors. To better help their decision-making.

Also, note that there if there will be a lot of grass for the Ceremony or Reception as well so that guests can plan their shoes and attire out accordingly for the weather and enviornment.

  6. What is the agenda after the ceremony?

Explain if there will be a Cocktail Hour following the Ceremony or will there be a gap of time between the Ceremony and Reception? If there is a gap in the schedule, give your guests local options for food, beverages or activities so that they can easily find something to fill that time.

  7. What is the parking situation?

If your venue has limited parking or a complicated parking situation such as street or parking garage parking or is difficult to get to, make sure your share those details with your guests so that they can prepare accordinly.

  8. Will transportation be provided?

If you plan to provide transportation to your guests (to and from a hotel or parking lot) make sure you share the pick up and drop off locations as well as the times the transportation will be making rounds so that your guests know ahead of time when and where they should be to catch it.

  9. How do I RSVP & when is the Deadline?

Provide your guests with your RSVP deadline date and share a link to your RSVP page on your wedding website to make it easy for them get their response back to you quickly.

  10. What are the Accommodation Options?

Make sure you share your hotel accommodation options with your guests including the name of the hotel, the address, the name on your room block as well as any codes or links you might have available to make it easy for them to book their stay.

11. Can I bring my Kids?

This tends to be a commonly asked question amount wedding guests. You want to make sure you let your guests know whether you plan to have children attend your event or not. For more info on how to go about wording this and addressing this with your loved ones, check out some more information here.

12. Will there be an open bar?

This can be important to note if you plan to have a cash bar or a partially open bar so that guests can prepare to bring along cash or cards for drinks, if needed. Also, make sure to mention that bartender tips are appreciated, if the tips are not being covered by you as the couple.

14. Will you accommodate dietary restrictions?

Let your guests know they can specify on their RSVP if there are any dietary restrictions or allergies that you should make your caterer aware of.

15. Where are you registered?

Make sure to share any links to any stores or websites that you have a wedding registry set up at. Linking it on your wedding website will make it easy for your guests to purchase gifts for you that you really want.

I hope this was helpful to you while putting together your weding website and don’t be afraid to just copy and paste these questions over to your site to make it easier. You can add any additoinal details that might be important and tweak it to make it work for you.

As always, happy planning! <3
