Keeping Your Wedding Guest’s Comfort In Mind

When looking for your wedding venue an excellent tip to keep in mind is your guest’s comfort. Will you have out-of-town guests? Is your wedding going to be in another city? Or, in a place where guests may want to stay in a hotel? Will it be a destination wedding? Either way, these are some good questions to think about when planning your wedding and more specifically finding your venue. Take a look around and make sure there are suitable hotel options for you and your guests to stay around your venue.

Some notes to take when talking with a potential venue is to ask the venue what hotels they recommend in the area or work with often. Most venues will have a list of recommended hotels that are close by,that they can provide you. I recommend calling these hotels to ask about pricing and availability for your wedding date. Ask about their group block rates and policy and also see if they have discounts if the guests want to stay multiple nights. This may take up a bit of your time (unless you have a Wedding Planner who can help with this) but, it will be well worth it to be able to give your guests the best experience. If there are multiple hotels in the area I suggest choosing two hotels to give your guest’s options to pick from.

Another great tip is asking the hotel if they offer shuttle services. Some do offer smaller shuttle options for the hotel guests, to and from the venue. Just make sure to confirm their operating times and make that this information is provided to your guests. If hotel doesn’t offer shuttle services, they can typically recommend some great local options for guest transportation. Your venue or Wedding Planner can also provide you with some recommendations for guest transportation. Guest shuttles can be so helpful with parking for the venue but also gives your guests a safe way to get to and from their hotels and really enjoy your wedding, especially if they have been drinking. All information about hotel accommodations and guest shuttle transportation, should be shared on your wedding website. This way your guests will be able to easily find the information that they need to know in order to prepare of your wedding festivites. You can make it super simple for your guests as well by adding links, phone numbers, directions and any codes needed too book their accommodations.

I hope this information was helpful! It’s important to find a venue that you love but, it’s always a good idea to keep your guest’s comfort and experience in mind, while you search. ;)

Happy Planning <3
