Love Will Always Grow Out Of Chaos - Phoenix Photo Shoot

I have been dying to share this with you all, friends and I am so excited for you to finally see the magic as it has been speaking to my heart for some time now!

After spending months helping my couples reconfigure their wedding plans one thing held true throughout so many difficult and disappointing conversations. That thing was love. Love meant more to them then anything else. Love was what helped them make difficult decisions about their weddings. Whether it was the love that they had for each other that was willing to face a global pandemic and change their vision so that they could still be married or, their love for their family and friends that made them decide to postpone or cancel their big weddings to protect the people they cared so much about.

We have seen relationships bud, engagements happen and even weddings take place all within a global pandemic. The COVID-19 pandemic did not stop love. If anything, it made us fight even harder for love. This was something that touched my heart in such a profound way that it sparked a creative fire in me to bring that love to life. So, in November 2020, I gathered up some of my favorite friends and wedding creatives in the area and we created the visual of this love in the woods behind a friends house in Ambler, PA.

Our backdrop consisted of dead dried up leaves, eerie arching leafless tree limbs and a dirt and gravel pathway. We used orange smoke bombs to show chaos and turmoil. The perfect backdrop to create beauty, growth and love on.

Our amazing floral team from William Penn Inn Floral Design created floral pieces designed to appear as though they were growing from the dried up and dead earth and a beautiful floral crown encircling the models head to bring the florals from the ground up. The flowers were vibrant and bright to show their strength and beauty against a harsh background. They popped from their backdrop which helped reinforce the overarching theme of beauty and growth from the darkness and chaos.

Our awesome models and real life couple, Morgan and Tad had their hair and makeup done by the amazing Cassie Sterling from Beyoutiful By Salon Chloe. The inspiration for this shoot and for the hair and makeup specifically was drawn from the image of a Phoenix rising from the ashes. Our model’s makeup was designed to feel as though she has been kissed by the fire that she had risen from, just like a Phoenix. Cassie really brought the look to life and Morgan looked exactly how I had imaged her.

The beautiful dress was picked from La Bella Moda and was an antiqued vintage Lazaro sheath gown with metallic lace and rhinestone details which helped capture the classic yet edgy vibe we were trying to achieve with this look. With the addition of a cape, the vision of a Phoenix really began to come to life.

The absolutely amazingly talented Julie Floro Photography captured every detail of this shoot perfectly. She took the vision I had seen in my head and gave it life and created a story out of the images. Here are Julie’s words on the story of the images:

“I started the story with our bride fogged in darkness and veiled with grief and sadness. There is no color, life, or beauty in this place. From there she walks through the smoke and fire to a beautiful place of light, color, and joy. She rises from the fire and ashes of her struggles as an overcomer full of love, light, and beauty.”

It was like she was reading my mind. <3

The intention behind this shoot was to show the world that love can still grow out of the darkness and chaos. It cannot be stopped. It cannot be snuffed out. It can rise out of the ashes. The ashes that 2020 has left behind. Love will prevail. Love will find a way. Love will always find a way. As long as we remember that love is our greatest gift, we will always have something to fight for.

We will rise from this, like a Phoenix rises from the ashes.

Love,

Naticia
